Brockville Tikis Clinch Playoff Spot

They’re in.

The Brockville Tikis capped one of the most remarkable comeback stories in the history of their league by clinching a playoff berth Wednesday night at the Memorial Centre.

With a hard-fought 2-1 win over the South Grenville Rangers, Brockville’s EOJHL Jr. B entry nailed down a playoff spot in the Rideau Division.

Perhaps as importantly, they also may have erased the last vestiges of a painful, one-win season in 2011-2012.

“It means a lot for a lot of the guys who were here last year,” Tikis captain John Keane said following the win.

Keane was with last year’s team for several weeks, then played for the Westport Rideaus in the playoffs.

As such, the towering defenceman knows plenty about what it means to qualify for the playoffs and what it takes to win once you get there.

“I got some good experience and learned what it takes in the playoffs,” said Keane of his time with the Rideaus, one of three teams the Tikis could end up facing in this year’s first round.

Winter Group Training Sessions

WinterGroup2013

We have set aside dates and times for the 2013 Winter Group Training Sessions. These sessions will help goaltenders through troubled areas, ensure strong techniques while giving them positive feedback and encouragement in a fun and relaxed but professional atmosphere. Review the schedules below and see how they fit with your own hockey schedule.

If interested in participating, contact us to let us know which schedule works best for you as there is only room for 4 goalies per group in a 1:2 guaranteed instructor/student ratio.  A minimum of 2 goalies is required for the session to be a go.
