Jacob Ferguson has been named Die-Hard Goalie of the month October at Gold in the Net Ontario. Jacob, who just turned 15 last month, received his six year achievement medal this year and once again attended one of our summer camps. Last season Jacob had a terrific year playing for the Richmond Royals of the Richmond Munster Minor Hockey Association near Canada’s capital Ottawa. Not only did he defend the net for his Bantam team but he also played for the association’s Minor Midgets and two other Midget teams. Whenever a coach from another team needed Jacob he was ready to help out. During last year’s regular season (2014/2015) Jacob posted a 20-7-3 record, which included no less than nine shutouts resulting in a 1.74 Goals Against Average.
This is what Jacob’s parents James and Dawna say anout Gold in the Net Ontario; “After trying several different goalie programs we came across GITN and after our first camp we have been hooked. What an awesome family atmosphere, where else do the owners open up their home to out of town kids for camps! With two boys playing as goalies we find the attention to details that the instructors put in to be a tremendous help. They will try to accommodate any request about issues the boys may be having. The kids like the small instructor to student ratio and the private lessons really help out during the season (fixing those bad habits easily). The training has allowed the boys to win the associations Goalie of the Year and now a Die hard Award. Jacob likes the program so much that he hopes to join the “family” as an instructor someday.”
Gold in the Net is a proven program in which hockey goalies work on skills building with the help of our certified instructors in a challenging but safe and professional environment. Our main focus is to demonstrate and teach but also to make corrections. At Gold in the Net Ontario we ensure that the goalies we are privileged to work are guaranteed very low instructor-to-student ratios so they will receive maximum attention.
